                                                                      My Friends Tavern

                                                      Newsletter- August 2012

Recently we changed the menus again and the current menus are permanent. During the last year we had three oversized menus and tried a lot of different items to determine what would sell and not sell. The sandwich menu is a compilation of the best selling sandwiches during the last year. The grilled cheese menu, ‘Cheese Dreams’, is also based on the most popular grilled cheeses, and one of the biggest surprises is the number of customers who like steamed spinach with garlic on a grilled cheese!

The dinner menu is based on specials that have sold well and we now feature surf and turf, with beef tenderloin and shrimp, as well as mixed grill and twin filet mignon diane. Other items include chicken parmigian with cavatappi pasta, new england flounder, baked haddock. old bay crab cakes (also available as an appetizer),cavatappi with a slow simmered sausage sauce, cavattapi mac and cheese and cavatappi with chicken cacciatore. I suppose it seems as if we like cavatappi, and we do, it is a jumbo macaroni with a couple twist and tiny ridges in the surface to hold the sauce, we are sure you will enjoy cavatappi!

The menu now features a children’s section titled, ‘Little Moose’, the kids can have chicken tenders with fries, cavatappi pasta, chopped steak and mashed potatoes or a junior turkey club and all priced between $5.95 and $7.95.

Thank you for being patient with us during the last year, we feel it was worth the effort and wait as we have menus we are proud of and should remain popular with our customers for some time to come.

I like the summer, but this is a bit too hot especially in the kitchen. Soon we will be cheering on the Eagles and offering fall specials. We are up against some big guns in the area and the likes on Facebook have slowed down, so please like us on Facebook. Thank you for your patronage and supporting your local neighborhood tavern.
